Hockey's Biggest Star - A Poem

Hockey's Biggest Star - A Poem

Patrick Hoffman |

Canada and hockey are one and the same.

When it comes to the sport, it is the greatest game.

While there are many hockey-related shows and outlets that try to cover everything and more.

There is only one who knows how to score.

This program is hockey at its best.

It will last longer than all the rest.

Of course, I am talking about Hockey Night in Canada the best hockey program in the world.

If you have yet to watch it, read about it, or learn about it, I suggest giving it a twirl.

It has great hosts, personalities, highlights, history, and a terrific theme song.

It is easy to see why this program has lasted so long.

It all started back on the radio where hockey fans listened with wonder and glee.

Once it went to television, it was such a great sight to see.

Great broadcasters and hosts such as Foster Hewitt, Brian McFarlane, Dan Kelly, Bob Cole, Harry Neale, Ron MacLean, Howie Meeker, Don Cherry, and more have delivered hockey to the masses every Saturday night for a very long time.

Hockey Night in Canada is simply sublime.

I may be an American who watches Hockey Night in Canada from afar.

Deep in my heart, though, this program will always be hockey's biggest star.
