Donair East Coast Origins Vintage Wash Heavyweight T-shirt

Our Halifax Donair Heavyweight Vintage Wash T-shirt pays tribute to one of the East Coast's most beloved contributions to Canadian food culture. Messy, sweet, savoury and unapologetically East Coast, the Nova Scotia version emerged in the early 1970s, swapping the traditional gyro's lamb and tzatziki for spiced beef and a distinctive sweet garlic sauce. Halifax eventually went so far as to name the donair its official food.

The design celebrates the late-night Maritime legend with a vintage food-poster treatment on the back and a simple Donair chest graphic up front. Anyone who knows why the sauce matters will understand.
